The "Area" listed is the area in which that particular site specializes. I hope this helps you in your research. Site: Find A Grave Area: All Type: Index of grave locations, inscriptions, and other individual information. Cost: Free Website: www.findagrave.com Description: You can type in a name and it will find any graves that are associated with that name. You can filter by state as well. Sometimes pictures of the people and/or tombstone are attached and vital statistics from the inscription are included.
Site: A2A Area: United Kingdom Type: Government records Cost: Free Website: www.a2a.org.uk Description: A2A allows you to search and browse for information about archives in England and Wales, dating from the eighth century to the present day. These archives are cared for in local record offices and libraries, universities, museums, and national and specialist institutions across England and Wales, where they are made available to the public.
Site: Calverley Area: Calverley Parish, West Riding Yorkshire, England Type: Church Parish Records Cost: Free Website: http://www.calverly.info Description: This site is dedicated to the collection and free publication of all historical and genealogical information pertaining to Calverley Parish and the surrounding district and villages. It includes both Conformist and Non-conformist vital records from the 16th century to the present. There is currently no search engine on this website, but the data can be pasted into a spreadsheet and sorted that way.

Site: Ray’s Place Area: New England Type: Various Government, Church, and historical transcriptions Cost: Free Website: http://www.rays-place.com Description: “This is a collection of things that I have found to copy and add to the Internet. Here you will find over 5,000 pages of history and genealogy records. I have spent much time going to libraries in New England and New York to get these for your use. The local histories are really good as they talk about a lot of people in areas where no records were keep in the early years. – Ray”
Site: Gen UKI Area: United Kingdom and Ireland Type: Gazette of all Areas of the UK and Ireland Cost: Free Website: www.genuki.org.uk Description: A comprehensive listing of all areas of the UK and Ireland, giving a listing of the types and locations of archives, maps, directories, bibliographies, cemeteries, genealogies, census records, etc. It is particularly useful for locating ecclesiastical parishes within counties and churches within that parish. It also is a great place to locate web resources dedicated to local areas. Original content is sporadic depending on the area.
Site: Hugh Wallis’s IGI search Area: Channel Islands, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Canada, USA Type: Search Eingine Cost: Free Website: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers.htm#Menu Description: This website allows a genealogist to search the IGI batches by last name and area rather than full name. It will link to www.familysearch.org and is a good tool if dates of birth or first names are unknown.
Site: BYU Family History Archives Area: All Type: Pictures, books, oral histories, and other historical literature Cost: Free Website: http://www.lib.byu.edu/fhc Description: This is a searchable archive containing pictures, books, and other historical literature. It has the original documents scanned in .pdf format. The intent of this archive is to help people everywhere identify ancestors and learn from their legacy.
Site: Google Book Area: All Type: Books of all sorts Cost: Free Website: www.google.com/books Description: This website is a searchable index of books. The original scans of some books can be viewed, while others will show only a portion of the book. Once a volume has been selected, the content can be searched for individual names or places of interest. The original content can be converted to text, which saves time transcribing.
Site: OnLine Parish Clerks for the County of Lancashire Area: Lancashire, England Type: Parish vital records with Search engine Cost: Free Website: http://www.lan-opc.org.uk Description: This site aims to extract and preserve the records from the various parishes and to provide online access to that data, free of charge, along with other data of value to family and local historians conducting research in the County of Lancashire. Data is gathered from a multitude of sources, including, though not limited to, parish registers, census records, cemetery records, churchwardens accounts, overseers accounts, land tax records, wills, business directories, postal directories, church and village histories, etc.

Site: Lincolnshire 1837+ Marriage Indexes Area: Lincolnshire Type: Index of Marriage records (Excel Format) Cost: Free Website: http://s10.freefronthost.com/mi Description: These marriage indexes contain the names of bride and groom, their fathers, full date and the name of the parish. All information is transcribed from the parish registers deposited at the Lincolnshire Archives (registers that have not been deposited at Lincolnshire Archives are therefore not included). The indexes do not contain any Register Office marriages, and there are few non-conformist marriages at present. The marriage index is updated regularly as more records are transcribed - currently the period from 1850 to 1870 is being worked on.
